Borderlands 3: New Mentions on Portfolios and Resumes July 26, 2017

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting super-hyped about the next Borderlands game! While it’s no secret that Gearbox is hard at work on it, any and every morsel of new information serves to add just a bit more insight into the progress and happenings of the game. Bearing that in mind, I decided to take a jaunt around a few places and see what — if anything — I could dig up. I didn’t come up empty-handed.

First, we have the following spicy mention of Borderlands 3 from the online portfolio of a “Contract Weapon Artist” who worked with Gearbox from July 2016 – February 2017:

Borderlands 3 Gearbox Software July 2016 - February 2017 7 months | Created high quality firearms and environment art. Contract Weapon Artist responsible for producing high poly models, low poly models, UV unwraps, baking, and textures for Borderlands 3 weapons and environments.

While none of that necessarily means Gearbox will use what this individual created, it’s exciting to see that contractors have already come and gone for breakout projects related to Borderlands 3! This is a great sign that development is moving at a rapid pace.

Next up on the list, we have a “Character/Game Designer at Gearbox Software” who has the following to say of their involvement with BL3:

Of course we all know there will be more than just one playable character in the next Borderlands game, so while this mention does little more than state the obvious, it allows us to fully take this point for granted.

Finally, we have two more mentions of the game: one from a “Concept Artist” who worked at Gearbox from April 2015 – October 2016, and the other from the “Senior Concept Designer” who has been involved with the Borderlands franchise from day-one:

If you haven’t seen Lorin Wood’s (the “Senior Concept Designer”) Borderlands prototypes that he’s shared from over the years, you owe it to yourself to go check them out.

And with that, I’ll keep it short and wrap up this post.

What are your thoughts about Borderlands 3? What would you like to see or not see happen in the game? Let us all know in the comments below!
